Britney Spears and Kevin Federline: Marriage, divorce and custody drama
Why do we even care about Britney Spears anyway? The reason we care is because we know more about Britney Spears than most of us know about our best friends. We can’t wait for the media to bring us our next fix of stupidity that Britney has to offer. The main question is why do they do that?
They do that to create a vicious cycle. Here is how it starts, the media brings it up and we acknowledge it and it’s just outrageous enough that it sparks conversation between some people. Then we move in to expand the story and maybe embellish a little bit and more people start to talk and create there own opinions and add there own parts to the story. Pretty soon you’re so confused you don’t know what is going on. Now they have set you up to revisit the story at a later time to bring it all back into focus.
The media coverage of Britney that I remember started with her 55 hour marriage to her childhood friend Jason Alexander. Then everyone asks, “What was she thinking?” Why do we care? Marriages begin and end everyday. But we want to know what happened.
Then we fast forward to the marriage to Kevin Federline. Oh my god Britney has done it again. American Pop-Tart weds a guy that doesn’t own a shaver. What could she see in him? The questions continue..
Next she gets pregnant. Stop the world Britney Spears is pregnant. It is the spawn of K-Fed, world’s most publicized back-up dancer. What are they going to name it? What is it going to be? Now is where the headlines start to fly. It’s a boy, welcome Sean Preston Federline. Britney flees from paparazzi with SPF on her lap and she almost drops him and so on and so on. End result Pop-Tart Bad Parent.
But wait..That’s right we have a second chance to see if Britney is really as bad a parent as we think she is. She is pregnant and having problems with Federtard. Sweet we get a 2 for 1 deal now. Now we start to speculate on the name of the new doomed child and start pools to see when the divorce will start. She pulls a fast one on the media and they all start reporting the name of the new child as Sutton Pierce Federline (AKA SPF2). (Insert Buzzer Sound) Wrong! The childs real name is Jayden James Federline. Darn it! She got us!
Now for the divorce. Johnny won the pool because he had the right date. More bad parenting, start partying with Paris Hilton and show off your vagina, a couple stints in rehab and anything else I have left out.
Recent news has Britney shaving her head, getting some tattoos and checking out a rehab facility. We don’t know where the kids are and K-Fed has dropped off the screen. Has Britney lost her mind? Does she need help?
My main question is why do we care? What has she done to be popular? She had a career at one time when she was in the spotlight for what she was doing career wise. She gave it up. That is when we should have stopped paying attention but now her popularity rides on what stupid stunt she pulls or how stupid she can act. She has superstar status because we fuel the fire the media creates.
